Should I return this?
Hi folks,
This is my first thread asking for help and I appreciate anyone who takes the time to offer advice.
Two days ago i bought a brand new TM S-System to be used for CQB games at a local indoor site. They have a 90m/s limit, and the S-System snuck in at 88/89 in the store so i was stoked (Can't use my M14 Socom as it is 94m/s).
Bought the gun, battery and 2 extra standard mags and got it home Saturday afternoon. I spent a few hours getting the dot sight dialled in and just doing some general indoor target practice in. Was really happy with the gun.
Yesterday (Sunday), I took the gun to the indoor field and it passed the chrono test! Was stoked! I decided to put a 1 point stock on it as they had one at the supply shop. I had to buy a LayLax side sling swivel, but no big deal.
The guy at the supply store took of the stock to attach the swivel, and as he was reconnecting the stock bolt he says to me "did you buy this used?"
WTF? No. why?
he explains that the stock bolt should attach directly to the mechbox, but that when he was reattaching it there was some movement in the mechbox and that he couldn't get it reattached the first time. He suggested I have the mechbox looked at cause he thinks it might be loose. He said it wasn't urgent, but could become a problem...
He then points to the front and says "and your front sight is cracked!"
Sure enough, the front metal flip down sight is cracked straight through just below the left release button. I have had it flipped down since attaching my dot sight, and have no recollection of hitting that area of the gun in the 24 hours I had owned it. Arghh!
Anyone here have similar experiences? Do these metal parts break so easily that I may have broke it without noticing? I would think it would take some serious pressure to break that area of the sight. Nothing else around it indicates a hit. Should I not worry about it and just cover it with some paint, or would these two issues warrant a return to the seller?
Your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks.
