I tend to like the feel of the P226 better because of its fatter grip. I also find it more comfortable to hold, I like the double action trigger and the decocker. The P226 also has the rail integrated into the frame, so allows for the mounting of a flashlight - very useful for indoors play IMO. My vote would go for the P226.

However, the 1911 is a great gun too and I wouldn't discount that as a good option. Basically, choose whatever gun you like best. If you have the option of trying them out at a game or something, I would recommend that so you can find which feels best for you. But either gun is a great choice.
