all the teeth got chewed flat off the piston in my one gearbox from only a few short bursts on full auto with a lipo battery, and i have to use a lipo with it cuz no other battery will make the motor do anything at all

the reasone your piston got chewed up is because the gears are going so fast, that they engauge the piston befor its fully forward.
11.1v on stock internals = piston rape.
if your going to stick with stock internals, use a 7.4v lipo.
even with a M120 spring, 11.1v will chew up your piston.
i use the Firefox 11.1v batteries, but i also use a fire controll computer (extremefire) to reduce the motor speed by 40%, it still shoots at insane rates of fire, well over 26rps. with its high discharge rate, a 7.4v lipo will pull as fast as a 9.6v NiCAD or Nimh if not faster.
