Anything that expels a projectile will always be dangerous. As with any airsoft product you must use appropriate precautions.
The propane is not used as a combustible propellant; it is stored under pressure inside the grenade and is used to project the BBs strictly through gas pressure (approx. 125 psi) when the valve is opened by firing the grenade launcher.
