If anything gets run-in between SD chamber and slide, it's the slide getting anally worked in. :P
I have two destroyed SD slides from this "work in period", meanwhile, the steel chambers still have flawless edges on the lugs. :P If anything, you'd have to take a file to the lug right away...
As for switching the sear and hammer, I totally agree. I use to use (and swear by) the Carom shot setup - it felt super smooth with a really positive feel. Then I started experimenting with KM setups which was also nice - but I still liked the Carom Shot setup better.
... and then last night, I installed the Airsoft Surgeon setup and... oh man, right of the box, they work like a dream and the trigger pull is buttery smooth... mmmm.....
Out of the box, the SD midframe installs easier than the FA mid-frames, but if you can get the FA mid-frames fitted right, they're not as finicky as the SD ones - at least that's from my experience. I'd like to see how the Airsoft Surgeon midframes are. I just received an AS slide for 4.3 - haven't installed it yet, but the build quality is top notch.
