In Canada ther are no restrictions as to what you can own. In the US, the laws as to what you can own vary from state to state, but what fundamentally impacts us are the
export restrictions that have come into place since 9/11.
There are tons of things that now need special export permits to be taken out of the US, and some things are just not allowed out anymore.
For example:
The CBSA says it's fine to bring in up to 5000 rounds of ammunition from the US without anything more than paying the duty and having a PAL. The US will throw you in federal prison for trying to exit the country for even one round of anything. So while Canada says GTG, you need to apply for an export permit to get ammo out of the states. Depending on caliber, it's worth it (I'm going through the paperwork now, takes about 18 months supposedly)
It's not Canadian law that's the problem when it comes to NV, it the US.
