I did have a 9mm Bushmaster carbine at one point, even it needed obscene amounts of maintenance. Getting back to airsoft versions of the guns my main problem with them is the ergonomics. I'm a fairly small guy and no matter what I can't find a comfortable position for the crane stock and god help me if I was to field a full sized M16. I find the weight balance to be far too front heavy (more so than a G36) and difficult to aim quickly. AR's seem to be made for much larger shooters than myself. For me it's difficult to say why people like them so much as all that AR's have given me is grief. But for it's flaws I can say it is a successful rifle and it'll be around for a long time to come.

Man I'm going to have to adjust quick when I join the CF.
dude...i doubt the AR15 you got at your shop for repairs were from the Manufacturer. they usually have a little "quality control", and from what i've read, lots of guys build their own AR's, they get a lower receiver from there, an upper from some guy, a barrel from another guy, a buffer and buffer spring from another place even god hasnt ever heard of.

some guys assemble their AR's from pieces they bought off from a forum exchange and trade, etc... dont expect them to be reliable.

I have a Bushmaster, 16" barrel, i have NEVER had a jam, or a failure to feed with it. half the problems with AR15's are magazine related.

which companies made the AR's you had in your shop? what were they in for?
