actually I'd like to extend my question to red dot scopes with x1 magnification.

I like the ACOG from G&P, because it looks "authentic", but I'm thinking - "is x4 magnification even useful in airsoft?" Are those red dot scopes with x1 magnification good enough? Can the G&P ACOG clone reduce the magnification to x1 so it's the best of both worlds?
