If you want to go back to the full stock, simply find the appropriate receiver and drop in your mechbox. As for the best one, I've had my G&P one on there for about a year now and I have absolutely zero complaints. Of course, its starting to wear now but with all the use this is expected. The wear is concentrated around the mag well from using mostly metal mags, and in the track of the selector lever (AK groove, very common). Combined with my King Arms metal front set, its been called "the most solid AK I've ever held". You could probably kill a horse with it.
As for wood kits, I have only had experience with the King Arms set. I found it to be fairly nice. The pistol grip was much too 'fat' for my liking, but thats personal taste. The front grips are comfortable, and the finish is only starting to wear now. This is wear from handling of course, and not including scratches etc. Actually, the other day I found a dent in them from a BB hit. The stock was nice, a bit longer than the TM one but it makes it that much easier to use with PB goggles. As well, its long enough that I can fit a 9.6v large battery in there. The only gripe I had was with the stock plate. To remove it, you have to fiddle with two screws and two metal plates.
Anyway, thats what I can contribute from personal experience! Google will help you find more reviews. Also, have a look at the forums over at Red Alliance for any and all of you AK needs and questions.
