I recently purchased a TM Type 89 rifle as my first airsoft weapon. I've heard lots of good things about it and its a more esoteric rifle that I'm not likely to see on the field. (and I love being unique.
) I did have a few questions that I have not been able to find out since reviews of its mechbox are almost non-existent.
From what I hear it fires about 280-290 out of the box. I would like to upgrade that to about 350-380 since I intend on using it at range. However, due to the unique mechanical burst fire do I need anything special to put a new spring in? ie. proprietary bushings/gears/etc? And all I've read is that the mechbox is reinforced. I'm assuming that means all metal gears and such or am I going to need to upgrade? (I'm big on durability)
And lastly, I want to put a red dot on it. But the only rail mounts for the type 89 I have been able to find are bought south of the border. Is that kind of thing going to cause problems if I have it shipped up here? or do customs overlook parts and such and only zero in on the weapons?
