It is not recommeneded, but it your case it is better than nothing.
First remove your mechbox and remove the motor. Is it turning when your press the trigger?
Second, try to dry fire with the mechbox OUT of the gun...(that is the not that good part), just once.
If it works ok, or seems to, then electrical problem should not be it.
Check if there is some oxidation or grease on the trigger contacts. That also can be the cause of your miss fire.
