The barrel definitely does not need any lubrication... The only thing you need to do is apply something decent to the internals, once. Superlube by Loctite is superior to pretty much everything else for this application. If you've got a stock TM, I wouldn't even bother relubing, the lithium grease in there should last a very long time.
