Ibby:

I figured out how to disassemble the handset. I'll describe the setup here and send you the photos via email.

It is a 4-pin connector between the cable and the handset.

Pin 1: RED & BLUE Wire connects to the speaker (Both wires are connected to this one pin).

Pin 2: BLACK Wire branches out into 2 BLACK Wires. One end of the black wire goes to the mic and the other black end goes to the mic talk button on the side of the handset.

Pin 3: GREEN Wire connects to the talk button on the side of the handset - along with the Black Wire

Pin 4: WHITE Wire connects (soldered) to some metal contraption (?ground?) that is screwed into the plastic handset and then another White Wire goes from the metal (?ground?) thingy out to the mic - with the Black Wire. (I hope my description wasn;t too technical for you ;>).

I don't know if it makes any difference, but on the 4-pin male connectors, there are 3 pins that are alike and one has a plastic tip on it and a hole in the center of the mael pin. That one is the green wire. The female end of it on the cable has a connection that looks like a TV coaxial cable (a needle pin in the center that slips inside the male pin for the green wire.
