Zero'ing should be based on effective range.
1- Adjust the hopup properly (you will need lots of room for that)
2- Estimate the effective range of the riffle in question, when the BB starts dropping or hooks either right or left. Keep in mind that if the BB flies upwards, your hopup is defenitly not set properly.
3- then you can zero the scope or RDS at this point. Best way to do this is either rested (AEG in a shooting bench) or prone.
Some people think zero'ing AEG is overkill, but in a firefight it might make make the difference. I use 30 rounders, so I prefer to spend the time and make certain the zero is near perfect.
Also, zero shoudl be set by the shooter since the shooting position and eye relief is different fo each individual.
