I've tried to put the screw in just by itself in the slide, and it works, but once I put all the internals into it, the screw doesn't seem to go in. I'm not sure if it is the tool I'm using, which is just a small screwdriver, that works for unscrewing it, or something w/ the slide that I have to tamper with. Any insight would be great.
Thanks!
You need to make sure that part#258 is properly inserted into place. I believe the gap should be facing towards the left, which is where the screw passes through.

A new recoil spring should help; otherwise, a good lube job should do the trick. Make sure that the blowback chamber is tight and secure within the slide.

You might also want to check to see if the barrel is interfering with the slide action.
