Airsoft gun parts are pretty much airsoft-only. Batteries are another matter, same for fuses and wiring. What you attach where, and where you hide buttons, is your choice. I think using the forward assist button for a switch is a neat idea.
Overall, start by reading the pinned subjects, and when you narrow it down to things that are really necessary, you will be able to ask more precise questions.
PS changing the stock from full to other means (normally) going to a smaller type of battery with less amperage. You may want to think about what that means for performance upgrades in the future. The coolness factor can get in the way.
