E = mv^2 (like grade 11 physics)

so increasing the weight of the gun has zero effect on the amount of recoil, it just reduced the valocity at which the gun hits your shoulder but increases its weight, thus the same energy.

Most likely was supposed to be a silencer, I dont know anything about silencers on large caliber guns so I cant comment, but if I remember correctly it was a .50 cal of some type.
