Most (but not all) 7mm mechboxes are also reinforced by design. Some 6mm mechboxes are also reinforced, but most are not. The differences between 2 bushing sizes really is not a factor in performance per se.

The difference is more in the mechbox and the ability to upgrade it. 7mm allows you to replace your bushings with bearings that will allow for some smoother operation. A reinforced mechbox will better handle the stresses of upgrading a gun to 400 fps or higher.
