As for the "give it treads" should check out those new Polaris winter quads. Four seperate track systems. Bascially each wheel was replaced by a trianbular shaped track rigging. Pretty cool looking, how effective in speed I'm not sure, but I'll be it gets great traction and climbing power.

Ive seen em.. my pal for them for his ATV, you will never get stuck, but your atv is slow as hell with them compared to a sled and other vehichles.
