Building my own battery set out of AA batteries, opinions?
I know there are some battery experts on this forum so thought I'd get opinions.
I've been able to find a set of battery holders for AA batteries from the local electronics store. These are small and compact, great for building a V-shape battery pack. These packs hold 4xAA batteries each and I'm thinking of wiring two together to make a pack for my modified M4. I realize if I use regular batteries I may burn them out (not made for the high draw) so the thought is to use rechargable Ni-MH batteries from Costco packs. These are rated at 1.2V x 2000mAH each. So 8 of them should give me 9.6Vx2000mAH if I understand this correctly. Total cost ~$35-40 or cheaper on sale.
What's everyones opinion? Can I use commercial grade batteries (good ones) to power my AEG?
The real reason I just don't use a battery pack instead is I need to fit these all into a Redi-Mag Armalite magazine and it's a great fit.
