It's somewhat relevant for digital photography since not all sensors are the same (CCD < CMOS, newer CMOS sensors are even better, etc), and moreso for lenses since the same shot taken with two different lenses can come out very different (and also why once you start using pro grade lenses its really hard to go back)... which is why i wanted to know what he used for a lens, since he's got some really nice macro shots with really sharp detail, very shallow DoF and the lens is producing a really sexy bokeh that doesn't look distorted. (and I'm currently shopping for a lens along these lines; see my For Sale threads for some pics with a lens that produces really crappy bokeh)
