The only problem with the Lithium battery is that they come in either 3V or 3.6V cells. Hence, battery packs will be of 6V, 9V, 12V. For a stock gun, 9V might be too much and 6V is obviously too low.
Not to say that you'll have to buy a new ($$$$$$) charger for your Lithium battery.
