Hi, I'm sorry that is incorrect. When the rubber bracing is removed, you'll see a single spring mounted on an angle. This spring exerts itself onto the monocular. It is intended to push the scope diagonally upwards.

I've updated my review and included diagrams of the scope's internals and modifications that can be done.
