yeah they're all plastic from what i've seen. sounds like maybe broken tappet and/or nozzle to me. if a part of that spring guide impacted the tappet during motion, it could break it, although i have never seen this happen specifically as the guide would have to leave the confines of the spring to do any real damage. i have seen broken tappets that will cause this same problem, but you should see the nozzle not moving if you turn the gun upside down and fire a couple of shots in semi. considering that your spring guide is already broken, that may be risky.
