Pretty much all of WE's rifles are good now. The G39 has just been good for much longer.

It's very light due to being a modern plastic fantastic and all that. Recoil is also high due to this lightness.

The magazines tend to resist cooldown well, and there are several videos you can find on YouTube of full auto magdumps in cold weather. However, the mag shells are plastic which makes them prone to cracking, especially on the clips where you can connect them to each other.

This cooldown resistance is likely due at least in part to the three-chambered design of the magazine itself.

I also had problems with the shells cracking where they were screwed into the inner portion.

I would recommend picking up one of the steel aftermarket charging handles for the bolt, as the one included with the gun from WE is prone to breakage.

Speaking of the bolt, the bolt release inside the trigger guard can be very hard to push so much people just use the charging handle to release it from its locked position.

You'll also want an NPAS to adjust velocity. RA Tech now also offers an aluminum nozzle if you want to ensure durability. Though honestly the plastic one is usually fine.

You can upgrade the recoil/RoF with a buffer kit from FG Airsoft. I was pretty impressed by it. However, I found the recoil was enough to knock the selector switch out of full out and into semi fairly often, no matter how tight I torqued down the grub screw holding that selector in place.

They're also pretty cheap guns for whatever reason, with decent packages appearing in the classifieds quite often.

Overall, the G39 from WE is a pretty great way into the GBBR market. Just install an NPAS and go.
