I have to agree that you won't be disappointed with either gun. I've got 2 VFC 416's, a VFC 417 and the VFC m27 IAR plus the RM4.

It really depends on your style of play in the end. The RM4 proprietary mags (for bolt stop to work) only holds 60 rounds. That's not a lot compared to most midcaps much less high caps. If he's methodical and is disciplined enough to use semi most of the time and likes the realism of the bolt stop, smaller mags and recoil then the RM4 for sure. If he's more likely to go out and full auto and likes the trades on the 416 then that's the way to go. If possible, have him try both guns.

As a note, ya the RM4 can still use normal mid and high caps but you lose the bolt stop and the gun just keeps firing when the mag is empty. I've really gotten used to that feature, wish it was industry standard.
