some bushings sit very proud over the side of the gearbox(SHS), take a pic of the gearbox and show us, dynamo is probably on to something here.
There might be room to sand the bushing to narrow it.

I futz with V2s, V3s and V6s. I could be wrong... but probably, most likely not, as far as I know.
