what's your metric for using audacity to determine the response time? from the time the motor starts and the end being silence?

Are you taking into account the physical pull of the trigger? If you're looking at the sound that's cycle time, and we're on the same page. "As soon as the cycle is initiated, how long to completion."

Personally I can't see how a slower motor on gears that require more turns from the motor can accomplish a faster cycle response than a short ratio and neo motor. Near instant top speed output from the neo motor, fewer rotations of the pinion to cycle the gearset.
