I run it on the left side because I'm a south paw. Running it on the other side is awkward.
The reticle sits at the edge of the flashlight in the very small sight picture.
The RMR in an offset like this is a point and shoot asset. Instead of thinking of it as a sight, think of it more as a bead on a shotgun. There is no rear sight, you should point and shoot at best-level with the rifle. This is only for use in extremely close range within 30 feet or so; mainly moving from outdoors into a structure for clearance or for snap shot at close range in bush. Its just to give me a better idea of where my rounds are headed.
The scope is a 1-4x, so anything 30 feet and beyond will be plinked using this.
