yes and no.

precocking will wear out your springs faster according to some... but when you start getting into fancier stuff, it's the price you'll pay for those kinds of features.

springs lose energy by cycling compression and expansion cycles from what I understand... chances are your spring is compressed sometimes when you store your gun after a game anyways.

When you install your spring you're also compressing it to an extent.

Let a car sit on it's springs for 20 years in a garage which is in a semi compressed state it will probably still be the same ride height it was when you stored it.. provided they didn't rust out.
