lefty here, I had the same problem and shot my feet when I went to reach for the gun and grabbed inside the trigger guard.

I am contemplating hacking the tab right off and seeing how that goes.

I installed the Hephaestus steel trigger set and it allowed me to torque the little grub screw down alot, the more I did the tighter the selector lever got.

I don't know if it is unique to my setup but it seemed to do the trick
