Ultimately it still depends on the camera's resolution. Thermal is a bit different in the sense that you simply just need to have the camera pick it up. It doesn't need to produce a high quality picture - it's purpose is served if one or two pixels in a bush changes colour.

At $350.00 it is within the realm of a somewhat expensive technological gizmo many people (not related to Airsoft, hunting, or whatever) will pick up just for fun. It won't be hard to do a Youtube assessment on whether or not the thing is worth investing in for Airsoft.

If it turns out to be "okay" expect to see them everywhere. They will be cheaper than your standard Gen 1 NVG and priced within the ridiculous Airsoft pricing we all pay.
