we can't point you to where to buy the guns (you have to get age verified, and blah blah blah).
Equipment and guns are very subjective. Both in look and feel. An M14 with a CIRAS and a multicam uniform is going to look and feel much different than an MP5 with a chest rig and a black uniform. Price also makes a big difference.
It's always recommended that you head out to some games before hand, or do some research as to what you want. Once you know what you want (eg "I want to play light and tight - so I'll go with an MP5 and a chest rig"), then do some research into what brands make quality MP5s, and look/ask around for what to look for in a chest rig.
Since you're in the Toronto area, there's a couple good indoor areas that you can play at in the winter, to get a feel for what you like, and see what others are using.
TTAC3 hosts games most Friday nights, and I try to attend as often as I can. If you can make it out to one of those, I'd be happy to lend you some different guns and gear, so you can see what you like the feel of.
The other place is Ultimate Airsoft, and they're open Wednesday to Sunday. They have rental M4s and face masks there, so you can show up and play. If you go on a weekend, there's lots of people there, so you can check out what other people are running, and talk to them about their gear.
