It's really up to you and the performance of your guns.
If your gun shoot <350fps, can you deal with your heavier BB traveling slower? So much slower that people may have time to dodge your shots if they catch a glimpse of it I'm time?
In most cases I use .25's in all rifles except my RPK which tends to like .28's.
Pistols, it just depends on what I am running but typically .25/.28 and sometimes .3
