I chose a gas bolt action over spring because I didn't want to have to fight with the bolt to pull it back. I don't have a lot of upper body strength, so I liked the idea of having a no-resistance bolt. I played and still play paintball, so I have two HPA tanks, a 48ci 3000psi tank for my paintball marker, and I purchased a 13ci 3000psi one for my Milsig for magazine usage, but never actually got around to utilizing it. So I'm using the 13ci tank for the G96. And even in cold weather it'll be more consistent than CO2 or Propane. Granted, a spring powered rifle will be more consistent, but unless you have the strength to pull the upgraded bolt back, it's hard to accomplish.
