Changing to deans isn't only "getting with the times". Deans are better at conducting then Tamiya connectors. You'll shoot more with each charge and, to a point, give your batteries a longer life since there will be less strain on then at every shot.

Changing to deans is a win-win situation.

And fuses are a debatable thing.

Some will say keep the fuse for safety reasons, some will say get rid of it to save space and have less resistance in your wiring.

If you're not stupid with your guns, remove it.

If you like your gun to be idiot proof, keep it.
