Insulated work gloves are a solid choice

I have a pair of Dakota work gloves I picked up a couple of years ago.. Thinsulate and sure grip palm.

when it's really cold I go for my neoprene gloves I used to wear for winter riding. they will make your hands warm and toasty even down to -15

I also have a pair of hunting mittens with a polyester glove liner. the palm is split so you can poke the hand out to do fine work and there is a sewn in handwarmer pouch. these are great for very cold situations where exposed skin will stick to steel.

once it's down to -8 or so all three options go with me.
