I've had a KA M203 shell that's been holding gas for over 2 years now, but it still only gets one shot per fill.
The KJ's just aren't gas efficient, it's usually either the weight of the slide, or the design of the valves that makes them inefficient.
But here's some food for thought; If it's a 1:1 replica of a TM, it's using a TM plastic pistol spec to move a much heavier metal slide. So they most likely sacrificed gas efficiency to move the heavier slide.
