High capacity magazines are usually banned by most teams, milsims, etc. other magazines types like middle capacity, or low capacity may also have limits associated with their usage; like a mag limit. High capacity magazines aren't usually respected or well thought of by the prominent community, but many gun models come with one in the box.

LMG users (and by LMG I mean LMG, not an AK with a large stock and bi-pod; but rather a full and proper RPK, etc), are allowed one box, drum, or high capacity magazine in most cases. This is for game dynamics, and to allow the gun to be used for it's intended purpose.

However, all teams, groups, games, sims, or whatever have their own unique variations of these rules.
