I know the plate your talking about. I just figured it was a fantasy drawing since some 2nd Reg FSSF were selected as "Airborne Ready" for the Kiska Op and the artist took some freedoms with that info.
In Ken Joyce's Crimson Spearhead there is a pic of a bring-back FSSF M42 jacket. Never seen a pic of one worn that was obviously a M42 in the field besides Frederick's.
As you know, the FSSF neighbours in Southern France were all pretty much all Airborne so acquiring a Parachutists Jacket isn't a stretch.
