The only weakness with the ares is the trigger from what I've read. the microswitch may break, leading to fun times trying to track a replacement down as it's a non standard part.
G36s in general are really easy to work on. I have a CA.
9.6v nunchuck nimhs fit fine, trying to find a high peformance 11.1v lipo to fit in the handguard can be a challenge.
