the tasco red dot is great for the price, it is able to handle a 5.56/.223 calibre rifle, and maybe a shotgun depending on what load is in it

or like said, the bushnell, it is all depends on the preference you have and the prices, these described are for newbie real steel shooters that wants a red dot but do not have the luxury to pay or something one wants to replace easily
weight is also should be in mind, what is the point of carrying a heavy red dot if your load out is based on speed and low profile, so a doctor red dot sight or the same style but you will need to rise up to your eye sight height
so is there a budget to be known? if so, if you like the aimpoint but cannot afford it, you should consider a vortex strikefire, price for it is under 200 dollars
