Can anyone answer what are pins E and F used for in the 6 pin U229?

Just got information from another forum about this. Someone with an adapter made for the ICOM radio posted pictures. On that adapter the pin outs E and F are left empty.

I still don't know what the Motorola is sending to those pin outs though which are usually for data.
