This is slightly late, but with clear/smoked bodies, you can paint them from the inside. This way, trades aren't harmed, and it's fully chip resistant, because chips won't get at them ( :eyeroll: ).
That's how I painted my FAMAS.
Just a thought, maybe for somebody in the future or for another of your projects.
