Even if you just stick a new mag in, by the time you move your finger to the trigger BBs already had longer exposure then when flying at 400FPS...
It's not about the long exposure time (a tracer bb charged for 10 hrs will glow at the same brightness and duration as one charged for 1 seconds). It's about the brightness of the illumination source. Supressor based units use a flashbulb to flash the bb. Mag and hopup tracer units use a LED which is not as bright.

I have a madbull gemtech tracer unit and the madbull ultimate hopup LED tracer. The gemtech tracer produces much brighter tracer rounds. Batteries drain quick though since the flash unit uses a lot of juice.
