Illusion made a bunch of great points...read through that carefully.

Keep it simple. Put it this way...your pistol works just fine now. Whatever you change stands more of a chance of making it worse than it is right now vs. making it better.

Race guns are NOT cheap...start with that. Most of it will be cosmetic...but all the bits are expensive.

If you're going for looks....
- adding a comp + inner barrel is a good start. Lots of bang for your bucks.
- I'd go with a two sided optic mount...just because nothing in airsoft is really perfect and it'll be super annoying if your mount is even a little bit canted. Plus...with twice as many screws there's a bit more coverage for threads loosening up.
- don't really crank down hard on the optic mount screws...they can't take it. Use a touch of thread loc instead.
- lower optic mounts look better than higher ones on a "proper" race gun...just my own opinion. Get a filler for your front and rear sights (like a charging/cocking handle)...most of those are so low profile that you can still take your slide off with the mount on.

If you're going for performance/reliability....
- stick to the stock stuff as much as possible
- focus on hopup unit, inner barrel, nozzle, piston head
- lighter blow back units...like the Nine Ball plastic one...are quite nice
- steel sears/hammers/etc...are nice...there's very fine performance differences, but if you're tight on money wear out your stock ones first.
