You'll have an easier time upgrading and supporting the MTC. It has a fairly up-to-date version of the JG V3 gearbox which is reliable and in its stock form gets (in my experience) fantastic compression. Echo1 has thrown a few aftermarket upgrades into it from Madbull and the like. It is extremely unlikely you will ever have a problem finding plentiful and inexpensive parts for the MTC. I would totally go with the Echo1 here.

The ARES is nice-looking in person but it will be harder to support in the long run. In addition, the blowback feature has a tendency to quickly turn into a "con" rather than a "pro" -- ask the more experienced gun techs on this forum.
