Kable,
In my shop we assemble from scratch on the average of 5 to 6 type 2 mechboxes a week. 80 percent are total Modify. Don't listen to anyone who claims they are less then first class!
When it come to hopup assembles we use 70 percent Madbull (but they are a real bitch to get set up correctly. However once set up they are the bomb) The new modify Hopup is very good and we are starting to use more of them.
The one place you can't use the Modfiy is for and KA lock back bolt assemble becasue they will bind up when trying to pass by the extra thickness in the upper reciever where the lock back assemble is. Becasue of what modify did to make it stay locked when dialed in the added extra thinckness across the width of the hopup no amout of modification can solve that problem.
For triggers we use mostly mad bull. They line up and work great in a Modify housing.
Depending on what reciever set you intend to use before you start assembleing your mech box check its fit in the reciever. Modify's are very robust and thick and in some case will bind when trying to assemble them. This may require a little custom grinding. If your not up to that then I recomend G&P gear boxes but they need different screws to hold the trigger switch which you can find packed with most motors.
Cheers
