Here's a fact.
Those who talk hate on PTW's don't know about PTW's. The only experience they have with them is second hand information. I know of some people who have problems with them but they are inept and would have problems with anything and are thankfully rare.
There is so much incorrect information on here thrown out like it's fact. Someone knows a guy who had a problem with his PTW so all PTW's have problems. People say they don't hold up in rain but their AEG does. Incorrect. I've played in rain, many friends of mine have played in rain and they are still going strong. So...even though the odd person has an issue, doesn't mean that they are like that across the board. Unless you have first hand experience with them, and more than just one game, don't go throwing out comments like they're gospel. You come off very stupid.
It seems to be known that there are a lot of PTW's in Alberta. I don't think it's because there's a lot of money. I think it's because the knowledge base here is high. We have one of the most well known PTW guru's, Macguyver, as well as some other highly experienced players. People have seen the performance, seen the reliability and have sold their other guns to get one.
As for cost. If you don't have the money to buy one, that isn't a good enough reason to think they're worthless. Another comment that makes you look stupid. I've been running my PTW for over 3 years. I only have the one gun. I play quite regularly and never have a back up. Once my gun went down, the motor died. Got it fixed two years ago, haven't had a problem since. That has been the ONLY additional cost to keep my gun running. I also got the hop up mod done. So tell me, how is that not worth it? 3+ years and solid reliability plus its accurate as hell. Don't believe me? I don't really care as it means we've never played together so I'll most likely never see you.
The whole argument about having different varieties of guns is irrelevant. Systema only makes two kinds, M4 base and MP5 (which is still being made) so that's all there is for comparing. If you don't like those platforms, then shut up. There's no point is bringing up that argument. There's currently nothing that can be done.
I'm calling "Mr. I think I'm Awesome Fox" out here as you made a comment about PTW's not having recoil. This is so incredibly moronic as this is an airsoft forum. The majority of airsoft guns don't have recoil!!! You are proving every time you post how far your head is up your ass.
This was a long rant but seriously, unless you have actual first hand experience be careful what you say as fact and opinion. You can have all the opinions you want but don't start spewing out false and incorrect information.
At the end of the day, play with what you love. Play how you want to play. No one has to convince others of why they should play with what and how they should do it.
