There are a few ways, depending on your dropleg's setup.

1) Loop upper straps to your pant belt - belt should be cinched tight, otherwise the dropleg will start to pull your pants down.

2) Loop upper straps to your vest/battle belt - note, the vest must have the necessary loops to allow for this.

3) Loop upper straps to your rigger's belt (waist belt you wear around your shirt/coat) - dropleg will pull on the belt like a western gunslinger's rig.

Basically, the dropleg's upper straps need to attach to something - and that something needs to be secure.
